This time it may be different. The Weather Ahead believes that one very important element will be able to keep you on track this year: Accountability. Below you will find a suggested format.
Take the Challenge Today and Read the Entire Bible Studies
show that most professed Christians have never read the entire Bible.
Other have read portions of the Scriptures and yet, others that began
never completed their goal. Perhaps, there are many reasons why this is
the case. However, the Weather Ahead is committed to providing you
with an incentive to start today. Part of it could be time to set aside
to read. In this day of information, we can maximize our time by
making every minute count.
Accountability This human trait is loved by some and disregarded by many. Accountability is synonymously used with the concept of responsibility. The term is associated with the expectation of account-giving. It is an aspect of governance, but for our purposes, it is applied to personal governance or self-control.
You are probably familiar with the following text: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christís have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." (Galatians 5:22-24, NKJV) The term translated "self-control" can also be translated "mastery" or "temperance." This covers restraint of one's emotions, impulses, or desire.
The implication of this is word is quite significant to help us understand accountability. Paul is listing a number of virtues that are the result of the indwelling Spirit of God within the person that has surrendered their will to the control God. The apostle teaches that there is to be moderation in all aspects of the Christian's life and complete control over every habit, passion and appetite.
There is no room for excess of any kind in Paul's theology. It is possible to be intemperate even while being fully engaged in doing the mission of Jesus and disregard the laws of health, social interaction and even spending time in communion with God. It is possible to occupy our time doing so many other good things to the detriment of our soul. We may spend the entire day occupied with living that we may forget to give God the time necessary so that the indwelling Spirit of God may work miracles in our lives.
For this reason, The Weather Ahead recommends that this challenge should
not be made alone. Engage your spouse, a friend or group of friends of
the same gender (for obvious reasons) to go through this experience
together. You should all be accountable to one another in order to
ensure success in completing the reading of the Bible in one year.
left us a great example of accountability when He chose His twelve
disciple to live in community for three years. They learned from each
other through experience and challenges they faced together. We highly
recommend that you find serious friends, neighbors or family members to
join you in this quest for the truth and knowledge of God.
Accountability, if set up correctly from the beginning will make a great
difference in your life this year and every year to come.

exposure to microwaves. If you still have a wireless handset, that may
also work on speaker phone.
